I have my eye on a Sultan Pleco, L264. I was wondering if anyone had any information on these beauties. I have read bits and pieces. I believe their max size to be around 6" which sounds good. I will be upgrading my 40G (47US Gal) tank later on this year and I was thinking about getting one now at a small size and then watching it develop in my larger tank. Thankyou in advance. :)

No one have any details on this fine L number. I'm almost certain i'm going to get it now, funds permitting. :)

Still, any info would be appreciated

smithrc has some (or had some). Just do a forum search (on "L264" or "Joselimai") - there's quite a few posts & threads one them :good:
Ps: I prefer their silver/black look as juvi's - the brown(ish) / black colouring as they mature is not quite as appealing in my opinion. So just be aware that they change colour as they mature.

Yes I had read they go darker as they mature but I still have my heart set on one. I'll do a search for L264 and see what I find. Thankyee Bloo!! :good:

hey all - Cheers bloo ;)

We had one - but not for long. "she was very young and unfortunatly was the only casualty when our presurised CO2 system went wrong (the first time)

"She" prefered a meaty diet - loved prawns and bloodworm. not realyy a lot more i can add I'm affraid ;)

Thanks smthrc. The tank it's going in is regularly fed bloodworm so that won't be a problem. As for Prawn, i've never fed this to any of my fish before. How do I go about it? Am I ok to use frozen prawns and let them thaw out, then put them in the tank? Also will they sink to the bottom or will I need to weight them down? Thanks again. :good:

just bung them in a bit of warm water and thaw them.... then either break them up or put them in whole - they sink :)
