I would like to introduce a small shoal of these beautiful fish and have read conflicting advice on their PH requirements. My PH is fairly stable at around 7.5 which would seem to be a bit high for DNR. I was wondering if anyone has kept them successfully at similar PH levels?

Thanks

6-8 in the wild they are found in ph of 8 sometimes, but aslong as you acclimatize for a few hours theyll be fine, put them in a bucket with the water they came with (of you buy them) and then use some air line to siphon two drops a second into the bucket

All my rainbows, including the praecox (dwarf neon) are kept in ph 7.8 with no problems whatsoever, so you will be fine. Ask the store you get them from what their ph is, that way you know the difference from where they are to where they are going and accliatize accordingly.

I always kept my rainbows in hard (GH about 250-300ppm) alkaline (PH about 7.6 to 8.4) water and had much better results than when they were kept in acid water.
