What is the word for "rose" in thai?? I have a new fish and have been contemplating a name for awhile and my first thought was Rose because of color but i like naming fish with foreign language names (i have used greek(Icthus:fish) and mandrin chinese (meiyu:beautiful fish) so far.)

My newest addition, a small Cambodian Male Plakat is named Kom, ala SRC's fish. Found the name with Jennie's help.

Not heard that one before..

ขอม (kŏm) - Khmer ; Cambodia (as you can see I am very original )

But I actually chose it because:

คม (kom) - be sharp ; be razor-sharp (seemed like a good trait for a Plakat)
- be attractive ; be bright-looking ; be charming ; be pretty ; be enchanting (and since he is a fancy looking one)
