theres alot of ID questions about so an ID forum would be awesome
people who are specificaly good at IDing fish and are bored would happily skulk around the forum helping people.

Most people who are good at identification of certain types of fish stay in that sub form (for example CFC in catfish or nmonks in brackish).

It's far better to get an idea of what sort of fish you might have and post in the relevant sub-forum. Far more chance of an accurate response then.

mmmmmm and if you're not at all sure post it in trop chat, someone will have a reasonable stab at the family (catfish, tetra etc) and then you cna hop over and pick up the relevant specialists.
