Got a small selection of tiger/green barbs, plus a large bala ( who might have to go in time), common catfish, and another small cat in my planted 260l, oh and a left over mollie who thinks he's a tiger barb ;)

Want to increase the barb shoal to about 10 fish. Any suggestion for other fish. Thinking along the lines of clown loaches but worried about ich! What about neons bearing in mind the bala might being going.

I suspect the "Green Barbs" you have are really the green morph of Tiger Barbs, the real Green Barb is something of a rareity these days. That said, Tiger Barbs are notoriously boistruous and aggressive. They really should be kept in large groups to keep their attentions on each other. 6 is always the minimum I would quote, but more is always better. I would suggest you get more Tigers, there are a couple of other colour morphs around if you want some variety, although you should take care not to be conned into buying painted or dyed fish.

More tigers.

Watch out for nips in the molly's tail.

I would suggest tetras or danios, seeing as how they are fast enough to outswim the babrs if needed. You could also try another type of barb (i.e. cherry).

Ok the tiger shoals up to max compacity. Mollies aren't really my thing. What about a red tail?

Could give Rams another go now I've got the bigger tank. Got loads of hiding places and they are more than capable of lookin after themselves with the barbs (well my previous ones were).

How big do danios grow?

dpends what kind of danio. Most are anywhere from 2 to 5 inches.
