1. What do you most of you guys and gals have as a substrate for your betta bowls??

2. Do most of you have heaters?

mucho thanko's

Substrate: dark small gravel and dead leaves and always lot of live plants in the tanks.

All my betta's have heaters, the temperature in my room fluctuates to much and is amost always to low for betta's to live comfortably.

Without a heater in my home he wouldn't survive long - they loose color, then activity level etc when it is too cold. I have mine in community tanks heated to 78 degrees. :D

ALASKA

Sand in my Cory tank w/ 2 females and sand in my planted tank with 1 male. My newest male is in a bare 1.5 gallon tank until I can fix up my 5 gallon. I'm adding some gravel to that one.

In one tank I have gravel. In the other I use these little rocks. I think they're called "Accent Gems" Really easy to clean and they bring the color of him out. Neither have heaters.
