Hey everyone :)

Tank is just gone 6 months old now and i've fought every type of diatoms, cyano and algae going while waiting for the tank to mature :look:

I'm now fighting off brown cyano which is 99% gone but there is still some small patches around and they grow back a little after being syphone out (Although less and less). I've got to replace my filters in my RO unit now and they should arrive tommorow.

My only question is when my tank is matured will the substrate be the nice clean white color that it was in the first few weeks of setup? I know systems that still have a dirtyish substrate color that are 1 year + old!

Cheers
Dan

Yeah, I'm pretty sure the only way to get it looking really clean again is to introduce a sand sifting goby, or perhaps star/brittlestar.

Well luckily i found a baby bristle star under a rock in my tank to do when i was cleaning, how about that for luck?

Will he have enough food in my nano?
Any nano goby sand sifters out there? The substrate looks clean after i give it a turnover during WC so maybe a goby working on it all day will do the trick

Thanks
Dan

I dont know of any sandsifters that can live in such a small tank... Brittle stars are usually ok in volumes that small though :good:
