Stupid Question?

Probably one for a chemist.....

...But, does activated carbon have any affect on the co2 produced by a reactor or vice versa

the carbon should only remove the impurities form the water chroline etc it should not be able to reduce oxygen or co2 levels in tank at least mine dont!

WWW, I am sure it would take a chemist to explain why, but I know it does not have an effect on dissolved gasses.
