Our hobby, with its "let's put it back in the wild in places it has never been" mentality has done a lot of damage. Once it's in a tank, it should never be released, even into its own habitat, without veterinary supervision. Florida is full of aquarium releases that are thriving and destroying native species. If you can't figure basic evolution out or don't 'believe in' it, then I guess it's easy to do these things, but I have seen entire river areas stripped of plants by released aquarium plecos, for example. It is not harmless to do.
I'd like to think it's the hurricanes hitting fish farms that did this, but no. That's a factor, but it's people who think they are being kind.
Idiots like this guy get their hits and maybe their money, and they probably take great pleasure in being called out for it. It's that 'annoying the educated people' we see all over the place. There is money to be made in making people angry.
