Stuff growing ????

OK,

I'm new - it's been 3.5 weeks since the Rekord 70 tank has been set up and I've lost one of whatwas two Clown Barbs ( Aquatic Centre put it down to Heart Attack as all elvels were reasonable).

I'm getting algae looking spores but only on the front of the tank ? All natural plants (5 number) appear to be showing signs of somekind in that their leaves are turning brown ???

I'm a bit worried - is this natural.

The remaining Barb seems happy enough but is a little quieter that normal - last check on levels by theAquatic Centre suggested that Amonia levels were too high so I've cut down on feeding and are cleaning 1/4 tank each week.

Any ideas as to the spores (is this natural) and whythe plantsappear to be dying ?

How much light (watts) do you have? and is a rekord 70 Seventy liters? What does reasonable mean for levels? The algae is normal. the leaves turning brown on the plants is a sign that all is not well with the plants. Often this means not enough light or not enough nutrients in the water. What is your nitrate reading? Are you using tap water or Another water source? Sorry for all the questions but the more detail we have the better this forum can answer you. Keep us posted.
