At the minute I am going throught the process of removing as much of the equipment from my tank as possible and I have just realised how horrible the strip thermometer is. So I came to the conclusion it might be ok to stick it onto my Ehiem 2213 external filter.

Has anyone done this before and will it change the accuracy of the readings?

you might find that its insulated plastic but i suppose the only way to know for sure is to put one on the filter and one on the tank as a test and see if they both read the same :good:

are those things actually accurate?? and do they really work?

im just wondering, but i use a Lifeguard Little Time & Temp.

Thanks people. They are reasonably accurate. I refuse to use them with my snakes but for the fish they seem to do the job, saying that I must invest in a digital thermometer with a submersible probe one of these days.

i just bought a job lot of glass thermometers off ebay still got loads left
