I've had my tank a few months now and so far have 7 tetras, 1 small silver shark, 2 small plecos and an angelfish. I have been considering getting a stringray for the tank. Does anyone know if these will be okay in a tropical tank and also if they will be okay with my other fish??

The stingray will eat the tetras and angelfish, the plecos will suck on the rays disk, depending on how big the silver shark is he might get eaten also. What do you currently feed your fish, stingrays have a very demanding diet. Stingrays will need a sand substrate or ver fine gravel. The smallest stingray is a P.scobina whcih will need at least a 6x2x2. Try posting this is the oddball forum.

If those are the fish you keep, then I imagine your tank is pretty small, as theyre smallish fish. Like people have said before, the min tank size for the smallest ray will be 6x2x2, allthough a 30" wide tank and 6 foot long would be much more comfortable...
Check out my sticky too, it should give you an idea of their requirements

Thanks for all your replies guys. Think I've come to the conclusion that the stingray isn't the best thing for me to get!
My tank is 3.5ft long, 2ft wide and 2ft high. As I'm new to aquarium keeping - any suggestions on what fish I should get to go with the fish I already have? Obviously don't want to overfill it so any advice would be great...

you have lots of choices it all depends what you like
also silver sharks prefer groups and will need more room,as will the plecos if their commons :good:
