I heard that Bettas can be stressed by a lot of reasons. What can be some causes of stress? How can you tell if your betta is stressed? What are some cures? Since the tank is so dirty, i'm going to have to transfer my betta to a one gallon bowl from the one gallon tank while I clean the tank. Will that stress him out too much? Will feeding him while he is in the bowl help?

no that won't stress him out 2 much.......i take all 4 bettas out of their tanks and put them in cups while i clean out the tanks and they always come out fine......i dunno about feeding........if he's stressed he probably won't eat

I suggest that you put him in a cup or a bowl of his old water while you clean the tank. then when it's clean, dechlorinated and the right temperature, you can fish him out and put him back. Keeping him in his old water while you're cleaning would probably be a lot less stressfull on him.

You can tell if a betta is stressed by a lateral white line appearing across the side of their body. Out of all my bettas, Telly is the only one that freaks/stresses during a water change.
