While I was inspecting my tank a couple days ago, I noticed a strange black worm in the tank, hiding underneath a rock. The worm was black with rings of white stripes, and was only about 1/4 of a centimeter in diameter (thickness).
I couldn't see the entire length of the worm, because one end was inside my live rock, but I'd estimate that it's about 2-3 inches long. I could only see 1 inch.
It was hiding on the underside of my rock, and probing around in my gravel. Every once in a while the end that was sticking out would open, like the petals on a daisy would. It appeared to be doing something in the sand, but I can't tell what.
It hasn't done anything bad, but I just want to know what it is.
I've had my tank up and running for over six months. The inhabitants are as follows:
Two percula clowns
1 common cleaner shrimp
1 pulsing xenia
lots of macroalgae
1 small calcerous feather duster
Tank stats:
ammonia 0.25 (Barely noticeable, I can't get it to go away)
nitrite 0
nitrate 0 (or so close my test kit can't tell)
