I've had this neon tetra in my tank for around 4 weeks and it's been fine all the while.

Just a whie ago I noticed it's abdomen look's... bubbly. This morning it seemed fine. Could it be because I added 5 more neon tetras to the tank? It's been one hardy fish since it's the only one neon tetra that survived out of the rest.

Will be going back to observe it a little more. It's swimming fine and behaving just as it was before.

Managed to get these only.

Hope these are clear enough. Took them with my phone.

Can't tell from the pic but my fish look bubbly when they're full of eggs. If it was bubbly one day, then skinny the next, plus the fact that you added more fish, it could have spawned.

!!

Are there any behavior changes though? I'm hoping they spawned and it's not some strange disease...

Been searching around the forum for stuff related to tetras ready for spawning.

Oh my goodness that tetra in the photo has a curved blue line and according to what many people say, I think it's full of eggs! :S I also noticed that there were a few new ones that had rounder bellies.

It's currently 3:28am and I'm so tempted to go down to have a look to see if they're okay.

Would be nice to have the eggs survive and see some baby tetra.

The chances of the eggs developing are unlikely as they're light sensitive, and I think she is 'eggy' as you say.

She's totally fine now  Back to normal and no eggs to be found. Had my hopes too high.

They are bickering amongst themselves though. Like chasing each other. Is it anything to worry about?

probably stuffed full of food, cut down the amount you put in for a week, see how they are.

Yes will do so. Noticed it eating more than it usually does and the bubbly abdomen's back. Thanks Tizer.

Your fish would devour the eggs likely before you even knew they were there. My fish follow around the tank any of my spawning fish. The eggs are snapped up faster than you can imagine.

Hmm.. this is a mystery. It's either "eggy" or just eating too much. :/ It may just be the latter!
