Just seen some puffers labelled salvator puffers or something like that at themillgardencentre in Chesterfield, they look just like the puffers someone on this forum has got, and he was saying they are extremely rare? Anyone know the proper name?

thanks

Its me who has them :)

Carinotetraodon Salivator, they are pretty rare although slowly becoming more and more widely available. Proably not a Puffer you should buy for your first foray into keeping them imo, they can be kept together but be ready for all hell to break loose. There are a few people Rocker included who have tried and failed to keep males and females in one tank.

Currently my pair are playing very nice, but ive got dividers and a spare tank ready in case ;)

Along with a few other people, myself included.

These fish i don't think should be sold in pairs really. Mine have recently started fighting, and I've had to sepereate them, and I thought I had it cracked as well (using dither fish, big planted tank etc).

I knew there was someoene else just couldnt remember who :)

I wondered if you feel the same as me that the females are really gorgeous looking where the males seem more ordinary lol
