Is it normal for puffer fish to just sit on the bottom or sit on a plant leaf with their tail bent round stalk or is he ill? I just assumed he is sleeping?

What species is it? Some sit and wait for food to come to them, ambush predators, others actively hunt for food. Never seen one wrap its tail round anything though, odd.

[EDIT: I see its a F8 from your other post. How often/long does it sit like that? Mine swims around most of the time, but does take a break like that occasionally.]

Hello, he's probably just asleep. I think most puffers sleep with their tails wrapped at their side.

He is very active most of the time swimming up and down the same side of the tank where the main flow is coming from the filter.

Yes, this is perfectly normal, this is how they sleep!

When they are tired, they will just lie on the bottom on the tank quite often!

Yep, if he's normally active, then this is just how he sleeps.

If he was to spend most of his time like this then in a normaly active species like F8s it would be an indictaion that he is unwell.
