Strange growth

Since i set up my tank on the heater has grown some sort of stringy alge stuff and it looks grey. Then all little white patches of alge stuff on the glass has grown, can anyone tell me what it is?

going on 3 weeks, but i just noticed that the white spot med has killed it off, weird
