I should have asked this before putting the tank together, but then I didn't know about here. I should have asked when I first got here, but oh well.

On the left back corner of my 29G tank I have a small cubicle attached to the back. It is open on the top and has a 1 1/2" PVC male screw fitting coming out of it. Can anyone tell me what this is for?

A picture may help, failing that a full description including dimensions.

Been about 5 months since I plugged my camera in, but doing it now. :) About 40 minutes and I will have pictures (have to empty the memory card first.)

Pictures as promised....

It looks like a trickle filter that goes to a sump filter.

I think the water overflows into the trickle filter and from there into a sump (below the tank), from which it is returned clean to the tank via a pump.

Well, at least now I know what it's for and I found a new use for the Glad Press'n'Seal. :D

I forgot it was there and overflowed it. Had my gravel cleaner attached makeshift to at least drane it so it didn't spill all over, but that wasn't working. Couldn't find rubber bands so I grabbed the press'n'seal. Walla, no more leak! :D

um....i hope that isn't a permanent solution!!! i have a feeling it won't last too long and you're going to have a very wet floor.
