I was curious if any of you guys ever herd of a neon and a fancy tail breeding. Well one of my friends had this happen really awesome looking fish. Only one has survived. It is a straight neon body with fancy tails on it. It is really a beautiful fish. It is now almost fully grown. I f you guys are interested i will try to get pics of it and post it. Thanks

PICSPICSPICSPICSPICSPICSPICSPICS!!!
it's actually not very good hybrid fish..usually most die..
but i would definetly love to see this!!!

i will try and get it up. He is now about 7 months old and is very healthy so we will see.

yes sir i swear to you im taking pics tomarrow will be posted, and trust me i know for a fact its the two. It has a neon body(red and blue). And a guppy tails were yellow and now starting to change.

Theres absolutely no chance these 2 fish can interbreed.Your talking an egg layer and a livebearer. Its probably just a fluke colourful bodied guppy that just resembles the colour of a neon.

o yea and sry about the quality of the pics

It's just a guppy.

Neons and guppies cannnot interbreed - not ever.

That looks nothing like a neon!
Though u said it had a body of a neon. That's a body of a guppy, with a tail of a guppy!!!

How would a neon be able to incerts packets of sperm into a female guppy to fertilize her with no gonopodium?
And as their nothing like releated how would sperm work?

Guppies and molly's are very commen genetically yet there still almost impossible to cross!

How ever if some one crossed a neon and guppy nateraly then I would like to see that.
Think I'll have a few years to wait though.

Neons lay eggs, and guppys are livebearers, this alone makes it immpossible as the sperm cells of both species regardless of the pair up are incapable of fertilizeing the other's eggs. The pictures you have there are that of a normal guppy, no hybrid. But i will admit he is a very good looking fish. The more common variety has a greyish plain body, but this one is quite shiney, much like a neon. A desired trait for sure, but certainly no hybrid.
