Strange Clown Loach

Why is my clown loach burying himself into the gravel
He's scooping it up with his nose mainly in the corner of the tank ???
I used to have 2 but 1 is dead now it that why he is doing this ?

Clown Loaches are tropical Cyprinids, not coldwater fish.

They are gregarious fish and as with most Botias they should be in a group of three or more, the loss of the other one may have affected him if he didn't do this before. They also like plenty of hiding spaces like caves, wood etc to rest in during the day IME.

It's not uncommon for many Loaches to do that though with Clowns I'm not sure how normal it would be, but I do agree, get more Clowns, and more hiding places and prepare to get a 75 gallon aquarium to house them sometime down the road.

shouldnt this be in the tropical section ? but yeh they do like to hide filters are my fishes fave ,he/she hides in the outlet
