hi y'all
just a quick question for the betta breeders.
I have bred quite a few betta's over the years.
But the two first timers i have are acting in a way i have never seen before.

I have 1 male and 1 female in a 24" tank with a 6" water depth.
the female is ripe with very intense bands on her side and the male has a handsome bubble nest up an running.
The male is showing to her and she follows him to his bubble nest and ofeering herself even from time to time nudging him then right out of the blue he attacks and chases her for five minuets or so and after that it all starts again.

Any help is much loved.

Thats odd because that happened to me last time. Thought everything was going good and they were under the nest together but then he chased her away and never got to spawning.

so you've had it too
i hear a lot of prople claiming that it's the female thats not ready but i never hear anyone say that the male may be unprepared even though i've never come across one.

hmmm maybe the male didnt think his gene would be passed on just a guess, btw wat color is ur breeding pair

kinda red
i have video footage of the problem now ,i have posted a new topic with my contact details.
icq 340-775-294 if anyones interested

Um, you don't mean this literally, do you? I can guarantee you that bettas don't give one single thought to their genes...
