Hi peeps, i have now introduced 4x turbo snails and 2 x red leg hermits into my 550 orca, im looking to start putting more cuc in and im still unsure of which shrimp to put in! also how many? i was thinking 2x peppermint and 1x cleaner but i do like boxer shrimp and blood (and all others! lol) which do you guys think is the best and how many is safe? Also im hoping someone can advise me on clowns (maybe mr nemo) what type is best for my tank? I know maroon and such get big and the obvious ones are pericula but whats the difference in the smaller ones? Sorry for all the qusetions lol, thanks.

i would put blue leg hermit crabs insted of red because they work harder. well you could put in 1 peppermint in and 2 blood shrimp. or if you have aiptasia you could have it the other way round. well i would put in to pericula clown fish in because they are small. i was told 3 shrimp in the orca tl550. hope this helps :good:

I would stick with a small clown species (e.g. True Perculas, Ocellaris). Don't forget there are plenty of variations of false and true percs that would be great too, such as naked clowns, black and white clowns, onyx clowns. You could also do pink skunk clowns, they stay a little smaller.

Harry's advice was good. I would just like to add you should skip the boxer shrimp, they're nasty little guys. You might regret adding him later.

Thanks guys, i know boxers are not great in terms of aggression but i do think they are fasinating! I would like the smaller clowns for obvious reasons, i have heard you can get both a black and white clown in with the original colour with no problem, this true? Thanks again.

It's possible and it's been done quite a few times, but you have to realize that if you want to do that, it's still a risk. Nothing says that the two will get along and be a happy couple and you have to be prepared to return one if it doesn't work out or risk one being killed.
