Well my tanks been setup for around a month now and nothings in there yet. Its 18"x12"x15" which works out at 12 gals. Ive just got back from holiday to discover loadsa diatoms and algae...CUC time :yahoo:
The readings are
Ammonia-0
Nitrite-0
Nitrate-around 5
pH-8-8.2
SG-approx 1.025 (getting refractometer soon)
Ill be getting some RO on monday to do a 25 %. Ive got aot of dirt sitting ontop of the sand...should i gravel clean or just syphon it up? Ill be getting a couple more pieces of well cured LR too.
So ill be monitioring the readins for another week
Then ill get something like 4 Red legged hermits and 4 turbo snails(or different kinds).
A week or so later ill get a pair of percula clowns and 2 skunk cleaner shrimp.
Ive been reading about a pair in a 10 gal and everything so im still uncertain.
A few months down the line(after ive added some corals and that) i was thinking of a banggai cardinal but im not sure if this would be too much for the tank....?
I have around 42 watts of PC(*said T5 earlier*) lighting...does this sound good enough for a Bubble Tip Nem a year or so down the line and for stony corals and a few softies (havent really thought about corasl yet as dont need too lol)?

Thanks

i would only get one clownfish if any, it will probably work but ive seen a fully grown clownfish at my lfs before and i dont think a 12 gallon is right for them swimming wise. Many people do it, most of them have healthy happy clownfish but i dont really like it. Actually, my 20 gallon is looking pretty small for them, gotta look into upgrading to a 40B one day....

Get astraea snails instead of turbos, turbos get big and knock things over

One cleaner shrimp should do, but you could get two

is the T5 linear or PC. Tank is too small for a BTA (bubble tip anemone) and they need mature tanks, 6-12 months is a mature tank. You should be ok for softies and most lps with that light though, people keep lps under 9 watts of PC light lol.

Okay cool, well the pair is something to think about...
The lighting is 42 watts of PC(where the T5 is bent backwards to make like 2 strips in one...right lol?)
I was getting 2 shrimp as ive heard that they breed regularly therefore supplying the other tank mates with fresh plankton :D

thats PC, from now on call it PC light, cause when people say T5 they normally are talking about T5 linear.

Lol,sure will! So is that lighting suitable for like frogspawn and hammer coral (i know baout the aggression)?
