please check my sig for my 55 gallon tank. the tank is semi planted and has black sand and large rocks. actually looks like a cichlid tank. ... anyways, i would like to add 6 killies and some freshwater clams to the mix. maybe 3 rainbows. so a total of 9 more fish. do you think this is an overstock? the tank appears to have polenty of room. the only fish in the 'main drag' are the rasboras, the babies, and the molly. the plecos and corries stick to the bottom. whatcha think? I have good filtering, water is mature, uv unti, proper temp..all the tests are fine. regular water changes...u know the story

Well if you swapped out the common pl*cos for a smaller variety you'll be in real good shap in the long run. But since these primarily stay on the sides or bottom, you could probably get away with it.. I'd say you have plenty of room to add a few schools even.. You've got great filtration and everything else which helps your case out.. Go for it :) How bout some neons or cardinals! Ooooooo

I agree about the plecos, they get somewhat big. Corydoras stay small and are better at cleaning up food at the bottom (though they, like the plecs, should be fed algae discs or vegies). Also, the plecos might latch onto the other fish and try to suck slime off their bodies and eyes. If the other fish are small and fast, this won't be a problem.

i am going to ditch the plecs for small ones. i have been looking at the zebra plecs that only get 2-3 inches. they poop a lot. =)i just watned to check for overstocking. i would like to add a school of killies and a school of rainbows.
