stocking question

I really want to include:

khuli loaches

(I would love tiger barbs but I don't want JUST tiger barbs and I'm afriad that in a tank this size I wouldn't have space since I would be more t-barbs in a community tank to decrease the odds they will nip and harass other fish, if you think it is possible to keep tiger barbs in a 29 gal community tank - please tell me your thoughts!!!! I have a young child who would be traumatized if a t-barb ripped or killed another fish - so I want to take too much of a risk)

other than that I would love an combination of some of the following:

zebra danios, white cloud minnows, harlequin rasboras, maybe a few hatchetfish, maybe a few cories.

Any stocking sugestions would be very appreciated!!

(a 29 g tank with an AC 300 filter, sand substrate, one live plant and otherwise fake plants to start, driftwood, a few rocks......)

From that list, I'd probably start with:

3 kuhli loaches
6 harlequin rasboras
3 hatchet fish

and see how that goes -- I'm firmly in the school of "leave some room for that fish you find later that you 'must have'.

That makes for kind of a "black and white" tank, though, especially if the hatchets are marbled (my personal favorite).

By the way, personally I wouldn't add the loaches or hatchet fish until the tank is fully cycled.
