Hi, just wanted every ones opinion on my what i should add to my newly cycled tank which is a 100 x 40 x 50 cm.

Currently i have 10 copper harlequins, 2 dwarf gouramis (1m, 1f), and a BN plec. Im going ti increase my shoal of harlequins to 20. And i intend to introduce 2 angels in 8 - 10 weeks or so.

I was thinking of maybe a pair of rams, or similar fish.

All thoughts and opinions are welcome.

I'm adding to my tank at the moment as well. I would love an angel or 2 but have just bought some neon tetras, which are apparently food to the angel fish, so won't be able to anymore :( The blue or gold rams are nice though and I would definitely get a pair of them.

If the tank is 50cm high you will do well with angels in there, if you get some reasonably small ones to start with they will accept the harlequins as they grow up so when they would be big enough to eat/harm them they will just accept them as part of their environment rather than a food source. How nippy are the dwarf gourami? Ive had an absolute nightmare where gourami and angelfish have clashed. Depending on the angels you get I think the rams will be okay in that tank size though you have other dwarfs cichlid options if you wanted as well like the apistos, maybe keyholes and the dwarf acaras. One idea that struck me was maybe put an other school in rather than the other 10 harlequins? a school of 10 is a good size so you could easy get away with adding an other school of 6-10 (depending of size) of an other school maybe go for a school of dwarf neon rainbow fish?

If you like the idea of rams, you could look into apistogramma. They are a lot like rams. They have similar care requirements, and both are pretty; That's alwyas a plus!
