Stocking My New 120L Aquarium

I'm currently cycling my 120l aquarium and am trying to decide what to put in there once it's done. I'm cycling using fish, I know it's not ideal but I fell into the trap of thinking the pet shop knew why they were talking about. I'm cycling with 5 cherry barbs. Once it's cycled I eventually want:

8 x cherry barb (including those in there now)
10 x neon tetras
Possibly 1 x honey gourami or powder blue gourami.

I like celestial pearl danios but not sure if there'd be enough room to fit 5 or 6 of those too.

Firstly would it be ok with just the barbs, neons and a gourami? Would there be any room for the danios? Can anyone suggest good alternatives to the gouramis, I've been put off slightly by the health issues that were mentioned in the forum. Finally could anyone suggest some other combinations I could go with.
