Hi I am getting basck into the world of aquaticss after a few years out. Historiaclly kept planted community tanks, with manly dwarf cichlids or "community fish"
However the upkeep of heavy planted tanks got a bit much as well as the costs of ferts etc. so I am looking to get "back in the game" as Alan Partridge once said.

Currently have a juwel Lido 200 (55gal) 71 x 51 x 65 cm with external Fluval 307 (internal filter removed) I plan to stack this tall tank high with ocean rock of some large limstone.
Substrate I plan to add a generous amount of CaribSea Eco Complete African Cichlid Substrate.

In terms of fish, I was thinking (I am not knowledgable on Malawi or Tangs so please feel free to advise) Pseudotropheus saulosi group and 2 bristlenose for cleanup

How does this sound? Please advise if they are suitable and also male female quanitities :)

Sounds really cool! Although I would check the hardness of your water and what the fish need for hardness and softness... Bristlenose plecos are softwater fish. If a softwater fish is kept in hard water or a hardwater fish in soft water it will lead to kidney failure... Other than that I am excited to.see how it turns out!

I'd be very careful with African cichlids in a tank of this size, the Lido is more of a cube shape which doesn't lend itself well to cichlid aggression, longer tanks tend to work better. Just ensure you pack it out with stones, rocks and hidey places and choose smaller species which are likely to be less aggressive
