I'm looking into setting up a Mbuna tank using my trigon 190, I've currently got an internal aps 1200 filter and I've also bought a tetratec external 1200 canister filter to run along site the internal

I'm hoping to get some ocean rock and use a sand substrate (anybody know how
Much of each I would need for my trigon 190?)

I've been looking at which cichlids I like and I really like the look of

Yellow labs
Cobalt blue zebras
Red zebras

Will they be ok together? I was thinking of getting 4 of each with 1:3 male to female ratio I'm not sure if this is too many or not enough as I've read about overstocking in order to reduce aggression but don't want them to be unhappy as the trigon isn't the biggest of tanks

Does all this sound ok? researching cichlids has given me a headache lol

Any info/advice would be greatly appreciated :)

Patience, it's a specialised forum section and people who can help you may simply be at work or asleep. You tend to get slower replies the deeper into sub sections you ask questions, which reflects the lower number of people who feel confident to reply on more specialised questions.

I for instance, have no experience of running Mbuna tanks. It's on the to do list though, given my local water and the other half's love of the pretty colours.
