Stocking advice wanted

I'm sure I've asked this before, but didn't get an answer, so i'll just ask again!! I just got a 40g tank that will house my Sajica pair. I'm going to add a small plec and a couple of bottom feeders at some point, but I then want more Cichlids. I'd like one of the bigger species and really wanted a Severum, but from what I gather a 40g will be too small. Are there any others that get to a reasonably large size that will mix with the others

I would say Convicts, but since they are similar, they might interbreed.

Try Firemouths, or similar Thoricthys.

If you really want Serevum, I would recommend upgrading to a larger tank.
