Hi, ive added 3 male guppies to my fish tank and want to add a few more. Its been 2 weeks since i added my guppies.
I was thinking of putting in a cory catfish and a ghost shrimp as bottom dwellers and then i want to add some tetras, so i was thinking of adding 4 cardinal tetras and 4 neon green rasboras. Is that going to be ok?

I read somewhere that discus fish go well with guppies, but is my tank too small for it?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

You're pretty much stocked as it is, the only other thing you could have would be shrimp.
None of the other fish you've mentioned are suitable in a 23 litre as they either get too big or are active swimmers & need more space

As lillefishy said, you are fully stocked as is... the guppys really would be better in a larger tank. All of the fish you've mentioned are not suitable for 23L. And discus in a 23L tank? you must be joking. You could possibly get a few red cherry shrimp or ghost shrimp though.

If it wasn't for the guppies I'd have suggested a betta, but they really don't go well with guppies. Too many flambouyant fins and resulting aggressive behaviour.
I agree that the fish you've suggested would also be a bad idea however shrimp hardly add any bioload and as a bonus eat up all the food missed by the other residents.

Did you cycle your tank before adding the guppies? If not, make sure you check out these protocols:

Hello, thanks for your advice. I can see where you guys are coming from now and have decided to not get too head of myself and enjoy the fishes i have whilst this is my first fish tank. But i think a shrimp would be nice to have, its different as you say it doesnt add alot of bioload so should be helpful im eating up any extra food.

Yup i did the fishless cycle before i added the guppies and i took the water to be tested. It took a long time though, almost 5 weeks!
