Hey guys, I have a 75 gallon tank which I want to use for a South American Cichlid tank. I’m debating on keeping 2 electric blue acara, a jack Dempsey, and a firemouth / green terror together. Would this be doable, or would there be constant fighting and unnecessarily territorial behavior? Don’t really have anyone else to ask, thank you.

What's your GH and PH?

Bad mix of fish. The Jack Dempsey (JD) and Green terror will kill everyone else and an adult male JD will try to kill the Green Terror too.

If the tank is 6 foot long you could go for a pair of Firemouth cichlids and a pair of Blue Acaras and some rainbowfish or bigger barbs. If the tank is only 4 foot long then 1 pr of cichlids (either Firemouth or Blue Acara, not both) and some rainbows or barbs.

Jack Dempseys are best kept on their own due to their bad nature.
Green Terrors are also best kept on their own or with other similar sized aggressive fish.
Female cichlids are less aggressive than males.
