I'm planning a complete overhaul of my 90g tank in the near future. Im talking converting my eheim into a wet/dry setup, sand for substrate, planting the tank, and restocking the tank completely. Right now, i'm thinking of a theme tank, like the amazon, or maybe asia, but im not really sure at this point. What I would like your opinion for is the type of fish I should stock my tank with, as well as how many of them would fit and what plants i should plant to suit these fish. I'm looking for active fish with nice colours. Also, ive had a few ideas for stocking. Let me bounce them off of you guys

Amazon Tank #1: 1 oscar, 3 blue acaras, 2 plecs and whatever else would fit safely

Amazon Tank #2: A whole bunch of angels and tetras

Amazon Tank#3: 4 red bellied piranhas, 20 neons (when the piranhas grow big enough to lose interest)

Amazon Tank#4: 2 oscars

Amazon Tank#5: New world chichlids

African Tank #1: Assorted African Chichlids, 1 dwarf electric catfish

Yeah, any/all input will be greatly appreciated...thanks guys!

Hi Matty,

You would probably receive a greater response in the chit chat section rather than in here :)

oscars don't do well with plants, or the opposite actually. oscars and most larger cichlids tend to dig them up and have them floating around.

here's what i did with my 90g

1 oscar, 3 clown loaches, 1 common pleco

These are the ones that will go with your planted idea.

'New Worlds' cover a whole wack of fish (including those angels) and if you choose the species carefully there are some that will go with your plants, but most of them are dwarfs.
