im gonna be upgrading my goldfish tank soon. atm i only have 1 shubunkin and 1 dojo loach. once i upgrade the tank to a 29 gal i want to add 2 more dojo loaches and a sarasa commet. with this be too many? i know the rule of 20 gal for the first goldfish and 10 for each additional and im only short 1 gal. if there is an amount of filtration issue upgradeing or getting an additional filter wont be a prob.

Both Shubunkins and sarasa comets get quite big (compared to a fancy goldfish) so I would only have one of those in your size tank. If they were fancy goldfish (fantail, moore, pom-pom, etc) then you could go by the "20 gallon for first fish 10 gallons each after that" rule, but I believe this only applies to fancy bodied goldfish. Someone correct me if I'm wrong please!

Nope all sound good 2 would be pushing it a bit but i supose although against recomendation you could pull it off with some very very good filteration.
