I've decided that I'll be adding Ghost Shrimp to my 10 gallon tank, once it's done being cycled. Despite the fact that they're affordable, I like the look of them and I like watching them scurry about. I've thought of 'fancy' shrimp, but they're difficult to find and I'm not sure about compatibility and whatnot.

It is a 10 gallon tank, with an internal filter that'll have its current killed a bit later this week (when I finally get myself to a store and buy a soda. ) I'm not done assembling it yet, but it's mostly there.

I was thinking

1 Male Betta
X number of Ghost Shrimp or some other 'fancy' shrimp

I was waffling over African Dwarf Frogs (ADFs), and I continue to waffle. Someone in the betta forum said they were "huge waste producers", and I seriously want a small bioload. I'm shooting for a low maitanence tank. I've been tempted once or twice to plunk my betta Furin in there and leave him be, but it almost seems wasteful to have just him in a 10g tank. I'd like to put a Very few small others in there, for visual interest.

Someone mentioned cories? I went to the pet store and I like the look of them.

Would either of these two setups be a feasible, low maitanence 10g tank combo:

1 Male Betta
4 Shrimp
5 ADFs

- OR -

1 Male Betta
3 Corys (panda? dwarf?)
3 ADFs

 I think I'm making this more complicated than it has to be.

EEeeeh, actually.

I think I've decided to put 6 ghost shrimp in the tank with my single male betta.

Now that I've "decided", I wish %^*&* tank would finish cycling.

I wonder if I'll change my mind again between now and the time when the tank is completed. -_- hmmmmm.
