I have a 55 gallon tank that is about 1 month old, I have 2 honey dwarf gouramis, 5 neon tetras, 1 rainbow shark, 1 bristle nose, 1 goyder river rainbow fish, 2 boesamani rainbows, 5 rummy nose tetras, and 5 rasboras. Most of my fish are small and I have so much open space to spare it makes my tank look empty. I am looking for fish ideas to make my tank look good. I will buy offline from someone on the forum or if I am directed to a website that would be great. I was recommended to buy some flag cichlds or blue ram cichlids. I need ideas!!
Thanks

I would rehome or sell the bosemani rainbowfish and the goyder rainbowfish. They are too big and active for a 55 gallon.
What kind of rasbora? Harlequin? And I would rehome the rainbow shark, as it will soon become very aggressive to all fish and is not suited for the tank.

I would go with:

2x Honey Gouramis
16x Neon Tetras
14x Rummy Nose Tetras
12x Rasboras
1x Bristlenose
3x Apisto Cichlids (1 male, 2 females) They will need flowerpots or coconut shells to make homes in though

I have had my rainbow and he has cause no trouble with my fish and he is a calm and peaceful fish. I have many hiding sports and he shares them with others. I will look in the tank and see him and my gourami and a couple of tetras all in one cave together hanging out. And why would I rehome or sell my boesamanis or goyder fish. They were highly recommended and they only grow to 3" max. I would really like some fish with color and excitement and some size Also any websites with really good deals?

Thank you

Personally I would up your shoals of smaller fish (neons, rummynose and rasbora). I would at least double each shoal. You will notice them far more and will give your tank far more activity and each species will be happier, braver and more active as part of a larger shoal :good:

I would also up your number of "Goyder River Rainbows" (a locality variation of Melanotaenia trifasciata) to either a pair or a trio (one male, two females).

Personally, I would do that and see how the tank goes before adding more and more species to the tank. Improve the wellbeing and happiness of species you already have :good:

What sort of filtration have you got on the tank? You need to be sure of a well filtered tank before adding more fish.
