Ok so heres the problem,i really really would love a nother couple of fish but hubby said NO NO NO NO MORE TANKS.So im not happy,can you guys look at my sig an checkout what i got in my tanks an see if i got room for maybe a platie or a couple of guppys or maybe a couple of neons anywhere.If not its back to the begging and groveling with hubby....maybe i could sweet talk him lol. )

Hey BigMac,
IMO you could fit another platty, maybe 2 in your 20 gallon tropical, or maybe 3 more neons. With 4 male guppies already I wouldn't put anymore males and certainly not a female she would get harrassed to death! If I were you I would stick to the neons, because the platties could breed and then you will have too many fry for the amount of fish you already have.

I hear ya about the hubby! I fought with mine for 3 weeks about the 55 gallon, then finally I told him YOU WIN, I wont get another tank! (p.s. the next day i went out and bought it! LOL)

In that case you are fine to add fish IMO. If you feel you have room for them and your levels are obviously good, go for it!! Maybe add a little at a time and continue to monitor your nitrAtes.

When your NitrAte start rising a lot between changes. Your chemically full.

i would say your about on your limmit personally. you can get away with overstocking a larger tank but i wouldnt advise it on a 20gallon... just my opinion
