not that i want to keep them but often wonder how much money you talking for a stingray ?

depends on the species and they size
we currently have a 6-7"disc motoray at work and is is priced at £145.

rays also need huge tanks, for more specifics ask in the oddball forum.

Yep, definately depends, something like a motoro will be (comparatively) dirt cheap, but for say, a leopoldi, will cost you a pretty penny

The cheapest stingray i have seen was at my lfs and was £90,

It is dependent on availability, how desirable the fish is and personal preference, black rays are hard to find now and command a much higher price

Most of my rays have been bought from fellow hobbyists and are reasonably priced, have paid between £30 ( reticulatus ) and £300+ ( Itaituba )

Motoro's and Retic are probably the most common, hardiest and the ones you see in LFS, expect to pay between £50 and £100 for a retic or a motoro

A friend of mine and myself went to Pier Aquatics a few weeks ago, and there they had the cheapest leiopoldi stingrays we have EVER seen!!! The cheapest I have ever seen a stingray is £70 for a standard motoro ray (but that is still pretty good) when it had a 7-8" disk span.

the cheapest ray you have seen steve is that leopoldi i gave you for babysitting the black diamond


they were the days when you could get a leopoldi for £90-£120 not that long ago when you think about it less than 2yrs ago how things have changed
