Fish Fanatic
Well I'm praying this all ends and is done with before we leave for TN. I do Not want to do 20% water changes and add meds everyday on the road. lol
So, I've been treating my fish with Rid Ick for 10 days now. Nearly got rid of ick, then it started in worse, now one platy has major ick all over fin, tail is covered in it. So I'm out of salt, but I did raise temp again. I had it staying at 82-84 (higher when light is on, thats why I put light on during day because I needed to use it for extra heat) Now its 84 at night, and raises with light to 86. I guess I should keep light off, But that makes it really hard to see and find out how fish are doing. And I don't think my heater goes that high, at least I don't want it at 86 when I can't watch the fish and see how they are. Did that make sence? Anyway. Do far, my live plant is ok, and all fish seem to be swimming well and not acting sick, yet still covered in ick. So there is good news, in 10 days of ick meds and 1 day of salt and temp, all fish are still alive. I took out carbon and am still running filter. My filter is an over the back one. I am hoping that I got all of the carbon out, I'm fairly sure I got all the pieces, maybe missed one piece, but would one tiny piece of carbon ruin my medication?
I read that I should treat for 12 days, then every other day till the 16th day. But I'm thinking I might end up treating everyday till I get rid of ick and then treat for a few days after that to be sure its gone.
ANy suggestions that could help me get rid of this nasty thing? Or am I doing pretty good?
