Stickleback.

Didn't know where to put this so i thought "well this is the cold water fish section. Maybe i should put it here"
I finally got round to catching some three spined stickle backs! I got them on Sunday and have them eating freeze dried tubifex worms! I soak the tubifex worms for about 5 minutes, squeezing them to soak them properly, then feed them to the sticklebacks. They are definitely eating them because i watched them and they have put weight on since i got them. They are all young though the biggest is about 3/4". They all have spots on them. They are in the 15 gal with 2 filters and no heater. When i got them they had concave stomachs!

Ooooh post pictures, i love stickleback! They are so cute, unfortaunetly the males are quite aggresive and are hard to keep in even a 2ft tank. You can't stock them like you can other fish due to their territorial nature. Fascinating fish though!

I know and i am planning to have the tank heavily planted with tall bushy type plants like cabomba. I can't post pictures until i get my new phone with it's 5mp camera!

I was in my lfs the other day and in a tank full of ghost shrimp for 5p each there was a lone stickle back! I really wanted it but when I came back a few days later it had gone

All sticklebacks are growing really well. I've lost the smallest one because i think the current of the filter was too strong. He was stuck to the filter. Other's are eating and putting some weight on but not too much luckily. Can't get any photo's yet because i am busy doing a 3 day blackout due to algae problems.
