sterlisiling items used in your tanks, boiling water is ok for most things i guess, but what about the stuff you cant put boiling water on, i.e gravel cleaners. as i found out when i used boiling water on my gravel cleaner it bent, hehehehe so i had to go out and get a new one.
i thought would sterilising such items as you would do a baby bottle in a cold water solution work?

You can use diluted bleach, just be sure to rinse really really well

I usually put hot water in my 'aquarium only' bucket and add some dechlorinator and some Melafix, since itis an antibacterial that is safe for fish, and I soak my nets, gravel vacs, etc in it every week.

the cold water baby sterilizer sounds like an OK idea, but I've never tried it.
I'd be afraid the plastic wasn't fish safe.
