There are only three places around here to buy fish (actually there are five, but two of them are not so good...)

Anyway, one of the three have sterbai's and they only have three of them left -- selling for $10 each. Is this the going rate? I guess if I want them, I have to pay whatever they are charging! I just want to be sure I'm not getting robbed. (They are holding them for me and I'm supposed to pick them up on Friday.)

Not sure about prices in the US, but here in the UK they sell for a good $17.50 each !

Wow -- maybe I'll pick them up tomorrow night instead! I can't wait to bring them home -- I've been "needing" (aka wanting) them for so long!

Hi Squirrelbuddies :)

C. sterbai are one of the more brightly colored and patterened corys. They used to always be expensive but are becoming more reasonable. They do breed in home aquariums and smaller more inexpensive ones are sometimes seen. If these are healthy and a large size, $10 each is probably a very good deal. Even if they are small, you will probably be happy to have them. :D

Thanks Inchworm! Can't wait to get them!

Totally unrelated story -- I recently remodeled the tank the sterbai's will be going in (last Saturday). I have 5 Corydoras melanistius in there right now. Being the little nervous things that these 5 are - when I removed all of the rocks and decor, they all piggy backed onto the plec for protection. Amazingly enough, the plec allows this. It's like he/she's their mum.

Hi Squirrelbuddies :)

That's such a cute story! Aren't corys the most delightful fish? They are always so full of surprises. :D

i got some wild caught corys from maidenhead aq for £8.50 each
55mm and 50mm long

I love sterbai corys, their prices do range (not sure about US i'm affraid) but I've seen them go for anything upto £15 each...........................I've got 10 of them, thankfully I know the breeder though ;)
Definetly a nice cory if you can afford them, so I'd say go for them

here's a couple of my corys on their endless hunt for more food :D

I couldn't resist -- I picked them up Thursday night and they are home doing quite well. I can't help but smile when I see them -- such delightful little fish!

There are some sterbai currently listed on Ebay- I know the seller and he has excellent fish and is a pro shipper. I know him under the screen name RMC and he may use that on Ebay. I doub't there are others listed.
