As Above I'm looking at buying a bigger tank and need to ask a few questions.
It's a Juwel vision 260 L.

At current I have a Rena kid 30 L, and it's just too small.

I have 2x blue three spot Gourami's
2x yellow leopard delta guppy's
2x glow-light tetra's
1x corydoras catfish
1x common plecostomus

I know now that the Gouramis need to come out of this tank asap as it's too small for them, it just goes to show that you shouldn't beleive everything the local fish shopkeeper says. They said all the fish would be fine in my current tank.
Anyway I'm starting to get excited at the thought of getting a bigger tank so I have a few questions to ask.

How long would I need to cycle the new tank before I add my fish?
Also should I be adding the water from my current tank to the new tank?

I'll be putting silk plants and rocks in my new tank.

you can use your current filter along side the new filter and everything should be fine, but a 30L filter will be tiny i would imagine?

Your common plec will have to go asap sorry to say, it will grow way to big. try and up the number of cories to around 4-6 if you can too, they do better in groups :good:

I have an Ehien aquaball filter and beleive I can add bits to it, but not 100% sure on that.

Here is a link to some pictures of my current tank and filter.

Hi Laura.p :hi:

I am a re-newbie myself, therefore no expert, but I have pretty much spent the last month on this forum reading and reading, and plenty of people have helped me and answered my questions, so I only feel it's fair to share the wealth (or at least what I've read) :teacher:

If you have the opportunity of leaving your existing tank running then get your new tank cycled first, and you have an existing filter that you can pinch some mature media from, so your laughing, you should be cycled in no time

I'm sure one of the experts will be along soon to give you some more in depth advice than me, also have a look at some of the pinned threads, you'll be reading for hours (I'm still working my way through them!) In the mean-time here are a couple of useful ones for you:

Thank you for your help.
I'll let you know how I get on. :)

I decided to snap up a bargain and have bought a Juwel Rio 180 tank insead of the 260.
I'll be getting that in a week so will let you know if that goes well.

Any suggestions on tank decorations?
I'd love real plants but feel like they'd be hard work on top of keeping the tank right.

I've also decided to let go of my Plec fish. My friend said he was interested in rehoming him so I had to jump at the chance. He's not gone yet but my decision was made alot easier after I saw a 10-14 inch one at the local 'Pets At Home' store!

How would I go about transporting him about 10 miles?
