Like what i was told waaaay back, dont count your chickens before they've hatched. Though im sure you know what your doing, breeding bettas is not always an ace in the hole and it may take alot of time, money, and effort to have sucess. GL :good:

P.S.~ Dont count on aquabid, thousands of auctions go unbought everyday, its not a sure thing that all your fish will instantly sell, so be prepared to care for 100+ adults untill you are able to find them loveing homes, (NOT THE LFS!)

I Totally Know I am Planning On When They Are Babys Showing Pics On Here And See If I Can Draw Any People In With There Cute Faces :D

Yep Then I will Hopefuly Get All My Baby Bettas Great homes I will Of Coarse Be Working On My Crowntail Just A Question How Old Is A Baby Betta When you Can Give It Away?? :hey:

4 months i would recommend for shipping purposes, if its to a friend close by thogh, 3 months should be fine.

Also depends on how big they are, if you pamper them, they will grow faster and be healthier, thus be more tolerant at a younger age.

Oh Yes Pamper That's What I Do LOl I own 2 Chihuahua's What Else Would I do They Would get 3 meals a day first meal would be baby brine shrimp second baby brine shrimp and blood worms third blood worms Yuck But Hey They Will Love Um Huh

Hey This Is The Discus!!

Hi I'm puzzled :/

Why are you waiting for a delivery of new betta's when your profile states that you already have in excess of 40 bettas (male and females), you have a more than adequate stock to breed from surely :/

Plus as Guppydude says, you should first breed them and make sure that you have the fry to potentially sell before getting too excited, there is a lot of things that can go wrong, take is slowly, get your betta's conditioned (this can take a couple of weeks at least) and THEN you need the breeding tank and THEN the grow out tank and THEN the individual tanks for the little guys you are bound to have (girls at least can stay in the grow out).

But to be able to make a business out of this you will need to be spawning at least 2/3 pairs at any one time to have a reasonable stock to sell and presumably to make a profit (which is what I presume you hope to do). :D

Sorry to be a wet blanket but you sound just like another young person I've come across recently, even down to the way you type out your messages. But think about this carefully you have to make a big investment to be able to do what you hope to do before you can even remotely recoup your costs.

Good luck and I wish you well, but take it a bit at a time. :good:

Breeding bettas is not easy.. takes a lot of time and luck. I gave up after trying for a good 6 months.. Was way harder, and involved way more work then I ever imagined.

Don't get in over your head... I spent $100s on bettas, and never even had 1 successful spawn.

Just curious if there's any reason you start every word with a capital letter?

Do you actually have the time to clean 40 betta tanks every 2 days?

You sound like me when I was wanting to breed bettas... I bought about 30 bettas, and could not keep up with cleaning them.. most ended up sick and died....

If I were you, I would buy 5 males, 5 females and that's it... theres really no need for 40 bettas. You'll never get a chance to breed even half of them most likely.
