african butterfly fish
pictus cats
Dwarf pike cichlid (not sure if hes gonna be 2 mean)

thats all i can think of, but if u have any suggestions that qould be great.

that's a terrible plan. why purposefully get a fish that needs a tank more than twice the size you can provide? think about it; how many people do you know that own 70+g tanks, want a BGK, and don't already have one? its not like you can just throw a BGK into a random community set-up. people who have the space and intention to own large, predatory fish already own large, predatory fish.

just save time and skip out on the BGK. keeping fish in too small tanks, just to get rid of them "once they outgrow it", is pointless unless you specifically have a permanent and appropriately sized home for the fish when you're through with it.

africans arent as big right? i hear that they only get up to 7 inches... but maybe 5 inches... i read to many different articles.. :S

African Black knife? I heard in captivity they top out around 8 inches. Really nice fish if you can find one. Was lucky to find mine. I dont know how it will do in a 35g. I keep mine in a 55g

The African Brown Knife (Xenomystus nigri) should do quite nicely in a 35 gallon tank as long as you give it a good hiding place. They are quite nocturnal most of the time so you may not see it a whole lot except at feeding time (the same is true for the BGK, by the way). The dwarf pike may or may not get along with the other fish you listed. Like all Pike Cichlids, the dwarf species can be aggressive and territorial.

It pretty much only eats live worms. Are you prepared for such exotic fish?
