I am currently in a college dorm and was not able to bring my fish with me. so i was wondering do you think it wise to start a coral/reef aquarium or one with just plants in it. Im not sure how involved they are and haven't researched it much yet, but i asure you i will. i just wanted to get some insight by people who have reef aquariums. Thank you.

there wouldn't be anything wrong with just a coral tank. many people do reefs with little or no fish. you'll probably end up wanting at least 1 fish though just so you can see their interaction with the corals, live rock & sand.

beware though, that they are a little more work than the average fw tank, especially with corals involved, as they can be sensitive creatures. but if you are willing to invest the time (and money!! :D) in their maintenance then it will be really rewarding for you.

hth.
