I have a interpet pod 120 litre tank, i bought it a month ago and this morning the lights were flicking. My first thing i thought of was the starter motor which is housed in the lid between the 2 lights. I thought first of all it shouldnt of gone so quick as its new and the second was "how do i get into checking or changing the motor". The bulbs are easy to change but i have no idea how to get into the middle part. I rushed down to pets at home where i bought it and they gave me a new bulb to try and said if that doesnt work they will change the whole lid, they dont no how to get into them selfs. It seems a bit silly to change the whole lid everytime the motor goes, so does anyone no how to get in and change it? This is the link to the tank. Thank you. http://www.petplanet.co.uk/shop_dev/assets/new_product_images//Interpet_aquatics/53523.jpg

Starter motor? I assume you mean the starter. To change it you simply give the old one a slight twist counterclockwise (maybe 1/8 turn) while pressing down to free it from the socket and insert the new one as a replacement by reversing the process.

I dont no how to get the middle of the hood open to get at the starter, they didnt no themselves in the shop, so i was wondering if anyone else had one of these tanks and had knew how to open it to get at the starter.
