Today while we were looking inside the aquarium, we noticed what looks to be a baby starfish. It is about 1/4 in big and is stuck to the side of the aquarium. It looks like a starfish and it is moving around the tank. We do have a brittle starfish that has been in the tank for about a month and still doing well, although it stays hidden behind the rocks and we see the arms through the cracks. If it is a starfish, will snails or fish eat it?

Dunno, what fish do you have? ;)

These little starfish are usually common Asterina starfish. My tank's crawling with them :)

We have three perculas, one yellow tail damsel, and one royal gramma basslet. If this is a asterina starfish, what benefits or problems will come from having them?

Benefits, they eat detritus and add to your cleanup crew.

Problems. There is one species that eats acropora colonies, but this species is very rare and in the absence of acros to eat, they perish in a few weeks/month.

We saw the starfish baby only once and now days later still have not seen again.
