Star Fish Killing My Clowns?

Help !!!!!!!! I'm a newbie salt water fish tank owner. I just got a Star Fish (Orange colour, like in Nemo movie) put him in tank and some on my clowns were pecking at him. Couple of days later, I notice one of my clowns top lip was really swollen and he wasn't eating. He died today. Just wondering if the timing was a coincidence and my clown would have died, or if it was the result of pecking the Starfish. Dummy me, forgot to ask the store if the Starfish was compatible with all other fish.

Any help would be appreciated.

My tank readings are fine and so are all my other fish.

No we don't share the same tank. I was not a member of this site so my friend let me post under his name. How do I find an ID on the starfish??
